University of Naples Federico II (UNINA)

University of Naples Federico II (UNINA), one of the oldest and largest universities in the world, has joined Overleaf to provide our Overleaf Commons solution to their 3,000+ academics. The Overleaf Commons solution provides Overleaf Professional Accounts to UNINA professors, researchers and staff supplying them with the full power of Overleaf in their writings and collaborations.

Founded in 1224, UNINA is the oldest public non-sectarian university in the world and boasts notable alumni including Renato Caccioppoli (Mathematician), Umberto Nobile (Aeronautical engineer and Arctic explorer), Giuseppe Mingione (Mathematician), Samantha Cristoforetti (Astronaut), Luca Parmitano (Astronaut) and Cinzia Verde (Marine Biochemistry Researcher). Today UNINA works hard to create a vibrant intellectual environment as the appropriate milieu for world class research.

Agostino De Marco, Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Naples Federico II says:

Overleaf was chosen because of its popularity as a cloud-based collaborative tool and for its ease of use. These two factors provide enhanced collaboration possibilities and, at the same time, offer an appealing entry-level option for LaTeX novice users.

Adolphe Merkle Institute, University of Fribourg

The soft matter physics research group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute (AMI), an interdisciplinary research institute of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Fribourg, has subscribed to Overleaf to provide access to our Overleaf Group Collaborator subscription. Access to Overleaf’s premium accounts enables their researchers to collaborate easily across their LaTeX projects, whilst accessing the power of track changes & document history, advanced reference search and integrations with Dropbox, Github, Mendeley and Zotero.

Founded in 2008, AMI is in many aspects unique in the landscape of Switzerland’s research institutions. Their research combines fundamental and application-oriented aspects in a multidisciplinary setting. Through collaborations with industrial partners, AMI aims to stimulate innovation, foster industrial competitiveness and more generally, improve the quality of life.

Their researchers are currently organized in five research groups, which offer complementary expertise and interests in strategically important areas: BioNanomaterials, Macromolecular Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Materials, Soft Matter Physics, and Biophysics. Interdisciplinary collaborations between our researchers are the basis for the successful and efficient execution of complex research projects that transcend the boundaries of traditional scientific disciplines.
