Tip of the Week: Displaying Source and Preview on Different Monitors

Ryan · November 9, 2017

Legacy feature (Overleaf V1 only): Please note that the techniques described below are no longer compatible with Overleaf (V2).

If you use multiple monitors, it's helpful to be able to edit your source code on one monitor, and display the preview on another. There's an easy trick that allows you to do this!

First, open the same project in two different browser windows. Hide the preview in one, and hide the source in the other. The preview in the second window will still update as you make edits. Full instructions are located here. Once you have your project open in two separate browser windows, you can move one window to your primary monitor, and one to your secondary monitor. Give it a try!
